Musical forms are sometimes simple and sometimes complex. Some are inspired by dances (minuet, waltz, gigue), some from the desire to take a tune and see how creatively it can be played (theme and variations, fantasy), and some have evolved over time (sonata, symphony). We will also consider song forms in multiple genres including classical and blues/jazz.
