MINDFULNESS TRAINING FOR A HEALTHIER LIFE
Wed. 9:30-10:30 (Limit 20)
Mindfulness is a great skill for anyone to develop and it can be especially helpful for seniors. Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to what is happening in the here and now. We all have the innate capacity to pay attention, but generally it is a skill we must cultivate. In a supportive environment, we will practice breathing exercises, guided meditation, and gentle movement. These practices improve mood, sleep, memory and offer a way to deal with stress by calming the mind and body. Ancient wisdom, neuroscience and psychology come together to help us understand ourselves better. This course will be informative, supportive and above all a fun exploration of this most beneficial practice. It is open to beginners exploring mindfulness for the first time and experienced practitioners seeking to continue practice.
